Catch Up

So there is some catching up I need to do. I have vowed to really put some time into this blog for the new year...and I am going to get an early start beginning with today. Since my last post we have had halloween, thanksgiving, and 3 birthdays. This is a pair of mittens and scarf that I made for my craft groups holiday party white elephant game. I used this tutorial for the mittens.

Boy Am I Hungry

I normally cook dinner every night and tonight was no different. Pork Loin, Green Beans, and Parmasean Rice. I just think it tastes better when it looks pretty. What do you think?

De Ja Vu

I know I have been gone for a while, but when you decide to go back to school, keep a full time job, and have 4 kids, life is a little complicated. I am just starting to get into the swing of managing it all soooooo I am back. I dont know how much crafting will be going on but we'll see.

I'd like to start my return with my thrifty find of the week.

Eames House of Cards...yeahhh babbby...All there and in excellent condition, and did you catch that price...thats 1.99. I am happy.

Movie Monday...

I know, I know it's Tuesday, but thats better than wednesday, so here it goes.....

I must admit that I have seen this movie more than once, but I like it. I think it speaks to alot of topics, relationships, motherhood, poverty. When you have children at a young age and then your relationship falls apart sometimes there is a struggle between being a mother and wanting to still be young. Sometimes this situation can leave you in poverty and you can run away or you can deal with it. I think watching this will teach us alot of different lessons including responsibility and that more is sometimes just more-not quality.

Movie Monday on errr Wednesday

So the excitement of the 4th has totally made me forget about movie Monday, so we will have it today Wednesday instead....

I really liked this movie and I must admit the first time I saw the preview I was like um "no". I got over it and watched it anyway. It really made me appreciate my family and the time we spend with each other. It also made me appreciate my heritage just that much more.

Something New "Movie Monday"

In an effort to keep up with posting until my camera resurfaces. I have decided to do a movie Monday of sorts. I am going to review movies that I watch over the weekend. These are just my opinions, and you may or may not like them, but I always say see for yourself. I will watch just about anything, as I don't really have a favorite type of movie, I just like movies. So this weekend I finished up the series....

It was "hero"-esque, but the acting wasn't the best. Somehow I was still drawn to watch the whole series. It was interesting enough to keep me coming back. So, I'd have to say if there was a season 2, I'd watch it.

maybe next year.....

A little while ago the NCM had a workshop on learning how to crochet. I was disappointed that I couldn't go, but that was the night we went to the circus. But I did want them to know that even though I was not there physically, I was there in spirit. So I had this teach yourself crochet book lying around for a while and decided to give it a try.

And me being the adventurist that I am decided that I was going to make a afghan, but not just any afghan probably the hardest one a beginner could make. It's a good thing I have faith in myself. I found this pattern online and modified it a bit (who do I think I am). Maybe next year I will have used up all the stray yarn I have and will have a pretty neat although imperfect afghan to show for all my efforts.

Wish me luck!

what would you do with $100

You could do alot with $100.00, but if you have love of fabric then you would do this.....

that is what $100.00 looks like in fabric. I have to say that it was my love of fabric, my unfortunate impulsivity, and sale fabric at hancocks....what is a girl to do? I better start creating something soon, or my DH will most definately be putting me out...lol!

Saddest Clown on Earth

This weekend we went to the circus. I hadn't been in a long time and while it was different than I remember it was still pretty cool. The focus is less on animals, which is good and more on acrobatics. I must say the Tigers looked a little pissed to be in that cage, and I was prepared to shield the little eyes beside me in the case of total carnage. Overall I think the kids had a great time.

We did however encounter a sad clown.....

He did however perk up by the end of the night.

I never knew how hard it was to take a picture of someone moving...and hanging from a sheet in the air. All in all it was a great night.

The New Year

The New Year brings forth many opportunities for change and growing, and I am feeling more confident than ever in this 2008! I have vowed to make and post at least 1 thing a month. I will keep my etsy shop well stocked (still no camera, so no update). I will de-clutter and simplify my life and home. I will take care of me. I will indulge myself and splurge occasionally on things for me (sorry kids, you have way to much anyway). These are the things I believe I can actually commit to, so here it goes.

Since I am still having camera issues, I leave you with this pic of #1,3, and 4. Please don't look to closely at the mess of the dvd case behind them.
